10   REASONS THE LUTHERAN CHURCH

IS NOT THE CHURCH OF THE BIBLE

1. Their elaborate organizational structure and synods are man-made (The Bible's simple plan: local congregations with their elders and deacons - Philippians 1:1)

2. They baptize infants (The Bible teaches belief must precede baptism - Mark 16:16)

3. They teach that sin is inherited (The Bible denies this as possible - Ezekiel 18:20)

4. The name "Lutheran" is unscriptural (even Martin Luther himself pleaded with his followers not to call themselves Lutherans, but Christians)

5.They claim a person is saved by faith only (The Bible teaches to the contrary - James 2:24)

6. They use instruments of music in worship (The New Testament teaches only singing - Ephesians 5:19)

7. They follow a man-made creed, ie. The Apostle's Creed (The Scriptures are to be the only measure of faith - II Timothy 3:16-17)

8. They have a separate clergy and laity (The Bible says all Christians are to be on an equal plane - Matthew 23:8-12)

9. They celebrate man-made holy days (The New Testament warns against such - Galatians 4:9-11)

10. They sprinkle water and call it baptism (The Bible form of baptism is a burial - Colossians 2:12)
